This lake is approximately 5 acres in size and has 46 permanent pegs. The near and far ends have a depth in the middle of between 10-14' with the pegs on or opposite the point providing a depth of 6-8' down the middle.
The main stock fish are carp varying from a few ounces to double figures with the majority in the 3-4lb class. See the Media Gallery below for a video of carp fishing in the margins at Meadow Lake.
Even discounting the carp this is a prolific venue with plenty of bream and skimmers to mop up your bait if the carp fail to show. Plus there are also plenty of roach and rudd which provide plenty of sport up in the water with maggot or casters. For some hints on how to go about catching silvers see the video in the Media Gallery below.
The lake is about 2.5 acres in size with approximately 20 swims. The margins contain soft weed and some lillies and beyond the margins the water has a depth between 10 and 14 feet. There is long thin island that holds a number of pegs and creates a small bay in the top corner that is a noted area.
This mixed fishery contains a good variety of species with plenty of small perch, roach and rudd to keep the "bit bashers" happy. Better sized roach can be found fishing hemp and casters. Tench are present in good numbers and result in sizeable nets in spring and early summer to the angler lucky enough to locate them. In addition there are big bream, crucians, eels and big perch up to 3lb 12oz.
For an insight into the Perch fishing at Snipe check out the video in the Media Gallery below.
